Professor of the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica "Antonio Ruberti" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza"
Roberto Baldoni is is currently a professor of the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica "Antonio Ruberti" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" where he leads the Distributed Systems group, the MIDdleware LABoratory (MIDLAB) and chair the Ph. D program in computing science and engineering. Currently he is the coordinator person of the EU project SM4ALL on networked embedded systems, the Tecnical co-chair of the EU project CoMiFin on the protection of the financial infrastructure and he has been member of the Executive Board of RESIST, the EU network of Excellence on Security and Dependability. In the area of egov he has been one of the leading persons of the definition of the next generation systems for italian e-government (Servizio Pubblico di Cooperazione), the PI of several EU projects on the topic and he is the Director of the "Master in Interoperability for Public Administration and Networked Enterprises". He is member of the IFIP WG 10.4 and of the
steering committees of ACM DEBS that he chaired in 2008. Roberto Baldoni belongs to the Scientific Committee of Sapienza Innovazione, the technology incubator of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where he is director of the Joint-Lab on Security Research. Roberto Badoni is currently interested in: middleware, cloud computing, networked embedded systems, distributed event processing and sense-and-response applications. Information Sharing for the Financial IT Infrastructure: Opportunities and Technological Challenges
With the joint advent of web 2.0, the ultra broadband and of the (private/public) cloud computing technologies, a new era is opening concerning the opportunity of sharing, processing and correlating a huge amount of information in a timely manner on the top of the Internet. It becomes indeed possible to customize virtual environments where group of partners share and correlate information that can be used, for example, to increase the partner’s security level from hackers’ attacks by raising situation awareness of each partner. The talk will point out (from a technical perspective) concrete opportunities, technical solutions and challenges for collaborative information sharing in the context of Financial Infrastructure. Moreover, the talk will also going through the main achievements of the EU Project CoMiFin focussed on developing an innovative distribututed computing platform for Information Sharing for the Financial IT infrastructure.
