Abstract Trust and Privacy - EU research activities An overview will be given of EC research funding activities in the area of Trust and Security, as part of the EU research programme for Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Attention will be given to ongoing research and results, with a focus on trust and privacy. Then the main drivers of the new workprogramme (2009-2010) will be addressed: (1) Internet of the Future as a polymorphic network infrastructure together with the information and service infrastructure and "Internet of Things"; (2) data protection and privacy in digital space; (3) the need to consider technology development in Trustworthy ICT in close relation with policy and regulation, societal acceptance and economic viability. This will explain the priorities in the new workprogramme for which a call for proposal will be opened end July 2009. Finally attention will be given to the International Cooperation activities in this area of research.
